Coding Classes |
In response to requests from some of our practice managers, we began offering insurance coding classes. We periodically offer Certified Professional Coder classes that meet one day per week for approximately four months, leading up to an American Academy of Professional Coders CPC exam. Most classes, other than the CPC course, are approved by the American Academy of Professional Coders for Continuing Education Units, for individuals who already have their CPC certification. All classes meet in the Jefferson County Medical Society office building located at 901 18th Street South, Birmingham, AL 35205. For directions to the building, click here. Free off-street parking is available for all classes. Current Schedule
Enrollment Policy: Due to current licensing requirements from the State of Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education, the class is limited to physicians or employees of physicians who are members of the Jefferson County Medical Society or another county medical society. Membership of a physician in his/her local county society will be verified. |
The Jefferson County Medical Society was created in 1877, only a few years after the founding of the City of Birmingham, as the local medical society for physicians in the Birmingham area. Since that time, it has grown to include over 2,300 physicians, residents, and medical students as members. Our members practice in virtually all medical specialties and serve on the staff of every hospital in the area. | Jefferson County Medical Society |
