Take a Hike with Livewell
|
Explore Birmingham's industrial history in your backyard and Red Mountain Park. Join the Jefferson County Greenways Naturalists for a guided "walk through time" - learn about the lives of Birmingham's first residents and walk the paths they walked 100 years ago by visiting the Smythe Mining Camp, Mine #13, and the Company Store at Red Mountain Park. This tour will be sure to inspire you to appreciate Birmingham's rich mining history. This hike will be approximately 1.5 miles on flat, but sometimes uneven, terrain, and will take 1.5 - 2 hours. Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring water, and dress for the weather. Feel free to bring along spouses, friends, neighbors, and kids! Click the button below to register yourself and your guests! We can't wait to see you there!

New Mandatory CME Requirement
We want to make sure that all JCMS members are aware that the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners has imposed a new CME requirement for all actively licensed physicians (as well as physician assistants and anesthesiologist assistants) beginning in 2025. You must complete the two-hour on-demand course entitled "Navigating Professional Boundaries in Medicine." The course is provided by PBI Education and is free. It must be completed by December 31, 2025. New licensees will be required to complete the course within twelve months of licensure. The link to the course can be found on the ALBME website at:
PBI Education Alabama
It is not necessary to take the course each year; at this time, it is a one-time requirement.
